Katie O'Donnell

Candidate for Maine

State Senate District 5

About Katie

About

Katie has lived in the Farmington area for nearly 20 years, serving her community passionately in a number of roles. At the University of Maine, she specializes in digital content creation, bolstering a more vibrant and unique campus and and the UMaine System. As a web designer, she helps small businesses and individuals increase their professionalism and enhance their digital presence.

Katie is running for this seat because she believes that western Maine has been undervalued, under appreciated, and underserved. There is great economic opportunity in this area that needs to be taken advantage of. Instead, hardworking families and individuals in District 5 face disproportionate challenges in their everyday live, including lower wages, less job opportunities, and less public services in comparison to other parts of the state, such as the southern coast.

As your Senator, Katie O'Donnell will represent the interests of all her constituents, not just those who support her or have her ear the most. She will be a strong advocate for implementing policy that everyday Mainers view as common sense. This includes supporting local businesses and boosting the local economy, supporting families by ensuring access to affordable childcare and quality education, and giving the necessary attention and resources to local institutes of higher education, including UMF.

Katie believes that people in western Maine should be able to live comfortably with the resources they need from birth until death. Too many wonderful families and bright minds feel the need to move away from the area due to a lack of resources, leaving us with an economy in decline and a weakened ability to maintain a healthy and robust community.

It's time to move forward with a brighter vision of Maine. It is time to elect Katie O'Donnell to the Maine Senate.
